Kelleher has developed into one of Central Virginia's premier home-comfort providers since the company was founded in 1968. Mike Kelleher drew on more than a quarter-century of experience in the heating industry when he, his wife, Marie, and son, Joe, started Kelleher Oil Heat in a one-room office on the Boulevard. Another son, Pat, and other key employees joined soon afterward to strengthen the newly formed company.

As Kelleher grew and diversified to offer air-conditioning, plumbing and electrical services, its family component grew as well. These days, many of the management duties are spread among three generations of Kellehers. The founders, Mike, Marie, and Joe, continue to play key roles in the company's development. Mike, as chairman, oversees advertising and community relations. Marie is corporate secretary, and Joe, the president, is responsible for the firm's overall performance. His wife, Maria, handles many of the accounting duties. Pat supervises sales and installations, and his sons, Barry, Brian, and Erin, are involved in service, management and sales.
